Worth knowing about Kabul
- Kabul splits its two terminals by function rather than by number. The building that opened in 2008 takes international flights and the original 1960 Soviet built terminal takes domestic ones.
- Airport taxis carry no meters, so the fare is agreed with the driver before the trip starts. That was still the advice in a guide updated in February 2026.
- The airport is run jointly by the UAE based GAAC Holding and Afghanistan's Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and its own passenger guide asks for three hours before an international flight and two before a domestic one.
