Every travel eSIM in this category sells a ticket: this much data, in this country, for this many days, and then it is gone. That last clause is where the money is, and it is the one printed smallest.
The arithmetic, worked through
Nobody finishes a data pack exactly. You buy for the worst case, because running out abroad is a real problem and having a bit left over is not. So you buy 5 GB for a week when you will probably use 3.5 GB. You use hotel wifi more than you expected. Your flight home is at 07:00 so the last day barely counts. Across the whole category, that leaves somewhere between 20 and 35 percent of purchased data unused at expiry, and every gigabyte of it is deleted.
Work it backwards. If 30 percent of what you buy evaporates, then a $10 purchase delivers $7 of internet. To get $10 of internet you have to spend $14.89. Put another way: a provider that deletes 30 percent of your data has to be 30 percent cheaper on the sticker just to draw level with a provider that deletes none. Almost none of them are.

The uplift column is the extra you get for the same money, not a discount. A wallet does not need to be cheaper per gigabyte to be cheaper per trip, and ours is both.
Wallet pricing
One price list for the balance, whatever the destination. In most popular destinations a wallet gigabyte is a full local gigabyte, and a few dearer networks draw at their own published multiple. Bigger balances cost less per gigabyte because they cost us less to carry, and the rate is printed rather than calculated at checkout.

A worked trip
Ten days across Japan and South Korea. You expect to use around 700 MB a day, so 7 GB, and you buy 10 GB for safety because the alternative is running out on a train. From the Orbislo wallet that is $16.89. You actually use 6.4 GB, because the hotel wifi is decent and two days are spent walking. The remaining 3.6 GB stays in your wallet.
Buy the same 10 GB as a 30 day regional ticket from a per trip provider at a similar headline price and the 3.6 GB is deleted on day 30. You paid the same money for 6.4 GB. We charged the same money for 10 GB, and 3.6 GB of it is still waiting for the next trip. The second trip is then effectively free until that balance runs out. Nothing clever is happening here, we simply do not delete things you paid for.
Leftovers come back on their own
Buy a country pack for a specific trip and finish with data left, and the remainder is credited back to your wallet at the end of the trip. There is no form and no claim window. You get a notification telling you it happened.
One balance, every destination
The same balance works in all 197 live destinations, 200 plus at launch. You do not re buy per country: the first time you use it somewhere new, that destination's line installs in one tap, and most of Europe runs on a single line. Check what is covered on the coverage pages.
Where a wallet is the wrong answer
If you are tethering a laptop for a working week, or cannot predict the trip at all, an unlimited pass is the better buy. Full speed to 2 GB a day, then 1 Mbps, at $5.89 for a day or $16.89 for a week. That is a real number and it beats a wallet the moment your usage goes past about 8 GB in seven days. We would rather point you at it than sell you balance you will burn through on day three.
