Four things you can buy, and who each one is for
The tabs above sell four different products. Which one is cheapest depends on the shape of your trip, not on how long it lasts.
None of the four expires. The gigabytes you do not use on this trip are the gigabytes you start the next one with.
- A country pack covers one destination. Packs run from $4.89 to $29.89, for 5 GB or 10 GB. Cheapest per gigabyte if you stay in one country.
- A regional pack covers one of 8 regions on a single balance. Only Europe and Asia have a published pack today. The other six fall back to the wallet.
- The global plan is the wallet. It works in all 197 destinations, from $5.89 for 1 GB down to $1.36 a gigabyte at 50 GB.
- A day pass is $5.89, with 2 GB at full speed and 1 Mbps after that. It wins once you use more than 3.7 GB in a day.

When a country pack beats the global plan
On one country, the pack wins. The cheapest pack in the catalog works out at $0.89 a gigabyte. The global plan does not reach that rate until you buy 50 GB in one go, at $1.36 a gigabyte.
The global plan wins the moment you cross a border. Two country packs are two stickers, and neither one refunds what you left in the other. One wallet follows you across all 197 destinations.
Asia is where our own regional pack gives way to the wallet. The Asia pack is $16.89 for 10 GB, which is $1.69 a gigabyte. The 10 GB wallet is $16.89, or $1.69 a gigabyte. Inside Asia the wallet is the cheaper of the two, and both sit on the same profile.
Europe goes the other way. The Europe pack is $16.89 for 10 GB, or $1.69 a gigabyte, which beats every wallet tier including 50 GB.

Regions on one balance
What each card in the grid tells you
Every card carries four things. The starting price for that destination, a median speed, the networks your phone attaches to in priority order, and a note about whatever will annoy you.
Japan sits at 74 Mbps median on KDDI and SoftBank, with a tenth percentile of 21 Mbps, and that second figure is the one that decides whether a video call holds.
A card showing one network name has no fallback. 6 of 197 destinations run on a single network, so there is nothing to switch to if it drops. 88 destinations are 4G only, and the card says so instead of printing a 5G badge you will never see.
What one balance buys across the whole store
