What you are actually buying for Oceania

You are buying wallet balance, not a Oceania bundle. The gigabytes sit in one account and work in all 10 countries listed on this page, and in 145 countries in total. There is no regional product to switch on at the border.

That matters on the second country. A country pack stops at the border it was sold for, so a run through three Oceania countries is three purchases and three installs. One balance is one of each.

Nothing expires. Whatever you do not use in Oceania is still there next trip, anywhere in the 145 destinations. Every account also carries 100 MB a month of free rescue data in 200 plus countries, which is enough for a boarding pass or a map when the balance runs dry.

The countries on this page are Australia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu.

  • One eSIM profile, installed once, for all 10 countries.
  • Tethering included on every size, metered and on the day pass.
  • A provisioning failure is refunded automatically inside 60 seconds.
  • 19 cities in Oceania have their own measured page.

Speed across Oceania, measured

The median in Oceania is 30.5 Mbps, taken across 10 countries and 2,226 traveller samples. It is the middle country rather than an average, so one fast market cannot lift it.

Australia is the fastest here at 76 Mbps. Tonga is the slowest at 18 Mbps. The tenth percentile across the region is 7 Mbps, and that is the number worth planning around, because it is roughly what a crowded station or a thick hotel wall gives you.

7 of the 10 countries are 4G only in our measurements. 4G carries maps, messaging and a video call. It does not carry four people tethering off one phone at the same time.

We reach 11 host networks in Oceania, Digicel, Vodafone and Docomo Pacific among them. 1 of the 10 countries run on a single host network, and in those a failed attach cannot be fixed by switching network. A reboot, or walking two streets, is the whole toolkit.

Country packs against the balance in Oceania

Countries you visitCountry packsWallet balanceCheaper
1 country, 5 GB$33.89$10.89Wallet balance
2 countries, 10 GB$66.89$16.89Wallet balance
4 countries, 20 GB$133.89$28.89Wallet balance

The country pack column uses $33.89, the median price of five gigabytes inside one Oceania border. The wallet column is the tier that covers the same data, read from the same file the buy button reads. Wallet gigabytes do not expire. Country packs are bought one border at a time.

When a country pack beats the balance

Read the table, not a rule of thumb. Five gigabytes inside one Oceania border costs $33.89 at the median, and 0 of the 10 country packs here work out cheaper per gigabyte than the $16.89 wallet tier. The other 10 do not.

The country pack wins when you stay inside one border and you already know which one. The balance wins the moment you cross, because the second pack is a second purchase, a second install and a second thing to get wrong on a train.

The cheapest country pack in Oceania is Australia at $9.89. The dearest is French Polynesia at $96.89. That spread is wholesale and not markup. Where a market costs us more it costs you more, and we would rather say so than average it away.

What is not in the Oceania list

Every country we sell in Oceania is on this page. If one is missing we do not have a pack for it, and the 100 MB a month of free rescue data is all you will have on the ground there.

We list 145 destinations worldwide. Airalo lists 169, Saily 121 and Holafly 113. On raw country count we lose to Airalo, and if the country you need is not below, they are the better buy for that trip. A rival single trip ticket for 10 GB was $29.89, checked 2026-08-24, against $16.89 for the same 10 GB here with no end date.

The Solomon Islands, the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Palau and Micronesia are not on this list. Indonesia and the Philippines sit under Asia, so an island run that starts in Bali is bought from that page.

Crossing borders inside Oceania

The eSIM does not care about the border. It is installed, the balance is there, and nothing needs buying again. What changes is the host network, and after a land crossing that can take a minute or two while the phone lets go of the old one.

If it has not attached after two minutes, turn airplane mode on for ten seconds and off again. If it still has not, set network selection to manual and pick another network from the list. Support answers in under 60 seconds, 24 hours a day, and that is the first thing they will ask you to try.

Distances are long and coverage between the islands is thin. New Caledonia runs on one host network, Mobilis, so a failed attach there cannot be fixed by switching. Tonga is the slowest country in the region at 18 Mbps.

Oceania eSIM questions

Does one balance really cover all 10 Oceania countries?
Yes. It is one pool of gigabytes and it works in every country listed on this page, and in 145 countries in total. There is nothing to activate at a border and nothing to buy twice.
Is this cheaper than buying two country packs in Oceania?
It depends which two. Five gigabytes inside one Oceania border costs $33.89 at the median, so two of them is $66.89 against $16.89 for ten gigabytes of balance. Four countries is $133.89 against $28.89. The table above shows all three rungs.
What speed will I get in Oceania?
The median is 30.5 Mbps across 2,226 traveller samples. The tenth percentile is 7 Mbps, which is the honest figure for a crowded place. Australia measures 76 Mbps and Tonga measures 18 Mbps.
Which Oceania countries are missing?
Anything not listed on this page. We sell 10 countries in Oceania and 145 worldwide, against 169 at Airalo. Check their list too if your route includes somewhere we do not cover.
Does the data expire?
No. Wallet gigabytes have no end date. What you do not use in Oceania is still there for the next trip, in any of the 145 destinations, and 50 GB works out at $1.36 a gigabyte if you buy that far ahead.
Can I tether in Oceania?
Yes, on every size and in every country on this page. On the day pass you get 2 GB a day at full speed and 1 Mbps after that, and tethering counts against the same 2 GB.
What happens if the eSIM does not install?
You are refunded automatically inside 60 seconds, without asking. Install before you fly anyway, because the profile download needs a working connection and an airport queue is a bad place to find that out.
How many networks are behind the plan in Oceania?
11 host networks across 10 countries, including Digicel, Vodafone and Docomo Pacific. 1 of those countries run on one network only, which is where a failed attach is hardest to fix.
