- The airport is in the municipality of Jomala, about 3 km from Mariehamn town centre. Finavia lists no dedicated airport bus and sends travellers to Ålandstrafiken for bus and ferry connections around Åland.
- Åland is Finnish territory and the airport is run by the state operator Finavia, so the arrivals process is the ordinary Finnish one.
