Vienna U-Bahn runs 5 lines. It opened in 1978. The operator does not publish whether the tunnels carry a mobile signal, so we do not claim either way.
Worth knowing about Vienna
- The City Airport Train runs non-stop between the airport and Wien Mitte in 21 minutes, every 12 minutes between 07:00 and 19:00 and every 15 minutes outside those hours.
- Vienna Airport currently lists a rail replacement service for the City Airport Train because of track closures, so the rail link is not running normally.
- The airport says OeBB S7 services run between Wien Geiselbergstrasse and Vienna Airport rather than through the usual city-centre stops, so check current schedules before relying on the S-Bahn.
- The U-Bahn does not reach the airport; it opened in 1978 and has five lines, and you have to change to it from CAT or S-Bahn services at Wien Mitte or another mainline station.
