Worth knowing about Espargos
- Espargos is the closest town to the airport on Sal, 2 km west-southwest of the runway, and the airport taxi to it is quoted at 1 to 2 euro against 12 to 15 euro down to Santa Maria.
- There is no scheduled public transport at the airport. What you will find are taxis, rental cars and aluguer, the shared open-back pickups and vans hailed on the main street.
- Sal has its own airport and no ferry link into the Praia or Mindelo routes, so an inter-island move from here starts as a flight or a separate CV Interilhas sailing.
