Getting into Serekunda

Worth knowing about Serekunda
- Serekunda is 18 km from Banjul and is the bigger of the two. Banjul sits on an island ringed by mangrove swamp, so population and business have moved out to Serekunda and the Kombos.
- Airport taxis have no meter. The airport guide puts a run to the coastal areas of Bakau, Kololi or Kotu at 200 to 300 dalasi and a run into Banjul at 400 to 500, and warns that paying in foreign currency costs much more.
- Westfield Junction is the decision point on the way in from the airport: one way runs to coastal Serekunda, the other carries on inland.
