- Monrovia has two airports and they are nothing like each other in distance. Spriggs Payne is in Sinkor, 5 km from downtown and close to the business and political districts; Roberts International, the country's main gateway, is out at Harbel.
- The published distance to Roberts International does not agree with itself: the airport's own record says about 35 miles (56 km) from Monrovia, the city's record says 37 miles (60 km). Both agree it is far enough out that the transfer is a road journey, not a hop.
- Spriggs Payne takes domestic and West African regional traffic, including ASKY to Accra with an onward leg to Lome and Eco World to Liberian counties, Guinea and Sierra Leone. Long haul arrivals land at Roberts.
- Roberts International's new passenger terminal was dedicated in December 2017 and became operational by September 2019, replacing the arrangement most older guides describe.
