Underground and on the metro
Mexico City Metro runs 12 lines. It opened in 1969. The operator does not publish whether the tunnels carry a mobile signal, so we do not claim either way.
Worth knowing about Mexico City
- Mexico City now has two airports: Benito Juarez (MEX) 5 km east of downtown, and Felipe Angeles (NLU) 35 km north, opened in March 2022.
- Metro Line 5's Terminal Aerea station is about 200 metres from Terminal 1's Gate A and gives no direct covered access into the terminal.
- Terminal Aerea is an underground station, so a phone loses line-of-sight signal as soon as you go down to the platforms.
- Felipe Angeles has no metro connection; the options are the Tren Felipe Angeles to Buenavista or the Mexibus to Ciudad Azteca.
