Worth knowing about Jeju
- Jeju is an island and self-governing province rather than a city, and its airport sits inside Jeju City on the north coast.
- Jeju International is the second-largest airport in South Korea after Incheon, handling both domestic and international routes, so it is a busy arrival point despite serving an island.
- Jeju's public wifi network is called Jeju Free Wifi. Its own guide gives three steps: select the network, register usage information, then pass a promotional screen before browsing.
- By August 2020 Jeju Free Wifi covered about 4,644 hotspots, including Hallasan's summit and rest areas and Seongsan Ilchulbong, plus roughly 932 public buses.
- Jeju Free Wifi later reached the Witseoreum and Seongpanak rest areas on Hallasan and piloted Wifi 6 at Seongsan Ilchulbong, with plans to extend to ferries and the islands of Udo and Chuja.
- Since August 2025 Jeju buses take EMV tap payments from overseas issued Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards, so a visitor can ride without a T-money card or Korean won cash.

- Hallasan's summit certificate has to be claimed on the day of the climb with a photo taken at the top. The approval number goes out by KakaoTalk first, then text message, then email, so keep a working phone on the mountain.
- Airport Limousine 600, run by Samyeong Transportation, leaves Jeju airport between 06:00 and 22:40 at intervals of 16 to 40 minutes, stopping at Jungmun resorts on the way to the Seogwipo KAL Hotel.
