Worth knowing about Gustavia
- The runway at St Jean is 646 m and ends on the beach. The largest aircraft that can use it is a 19 seater such as a Twin Otter, and pilots need a specific licence to land there, which is why almost everyone connects through Sint Maarten.
- The flight from Sint Maarten is a ten minute shuttle on Winair or St Barth Commuter. From Guadeloupe or San Juan it is a nonstop of about 50 minutes.
- Ferries do not use the airport. Voyager 3 Dreamliner, Great Bay Ferry and The Edge all dock at the Terminal of Gustavia, which puts you in the capital rather than at St Jean.
