Worth knowing about Marigot
- Marigot's own airport is Grand Case-Esperance (SFG) on the French side, but most visitors land at Princess Juliana (SXM), which is in the country of Sint Maarten on the Dutch half of the island. The frontier between the two sides is open, so getting from SXM to Marigot is a road crossing rather than a border formality.
- Grand Case-Esperance has a 1,200 m runway and takes regional aircraft only, with scheduled flights to Fort-de-France, Pointe-a-Pitre and Saint-Barthelemy, all of them French Caribbean. Anything intercontinental lands at SXM instead.
- Princess Juliana ran on temporary facilities from October 2017 after Hurricane Irma struck on 6 September 2017; the rebuilt arrival hall, with new baggage and customs systems, reopened on 15 October 2024.
- The ferry from Marigot to Blowing Point in Anguilla is a 20 minute crossing.
- The French side uses the euro, though the US dollar is widely accepted, so a card or cash that works in Sint Maarten will usually work in Marigot too.
