- Three airports serve Paramaribo and only one of them is the way in. International flights land at Johan Adolf Pengel, 45 km south at Zanderij. Zorg en Hoop sits inside the city but handles general aviation, flight training and charters.
- Eduard Alexander Gummels opened as an international airport on 24 March 2025 with a new 1,200 metre runway at Kwatta, but it is privately owned and built around offshore helicopter and cargo work rather than scheduled passenger arrivals.
