Underground and on the metro
Tunis Light Metro (métro léger de Tunis) runs 6 lines. It opened in 1985. The operator does not publish whether the tunnels carry a mobile signal, so we do not claim either way.
Worth knowing about Tunis
- Tunis-Carthage sits about 8 km north-east of the city centre and is the home base of Tunisair, Tunisair Express, Nouvelair and Tunisavia.
- Free airport Wi-Fi across Tunisia is run by the airports authority OACA under one SSID, 'OACA_AEROPORT_WIFI_FREE', so the same network name appears at Tunis-Carthage and Djerba.
- A direct bus link to the city centre is recent: TRANSTU only launched a Tunis Marine airport line on 29 April 2024, on top of existing line 35.
