- Bora Bora's airport is built on Motu Mute, an islet in the lagoon, so every arriving passenger finishes the journey by boat rather than by road.
- The shuttle boat is free for the airline's passengers and takes about 15 minutes. Going out, it leaves the Vaitape dock 1 hour 15 minutes before the flight.
- The airfield opened in 1943 as a wartime military strip and only took commercial flights from 1958, after the runway was rebuilt.
