Worth knowing about Al Mawşil al Jadīdah
- Mosul International Airport is working again. It was reinaugurated on 16 July 2025 and the first commercial flight, an Iraqi Airways service from Baghdad, landed on 6 November 2025. Anything written before that describes a closed airport.
- The reopened Mosul airport takes one route. Its airline table lists Iraqi Airways to Baghdad and nothing else, so an arrival from outside Iraq still comes through Erbil or Baghdad and finishes by road.
- Mosul's runway is 15/33, 2,650 m of concrete, which is short of what most long haul aircraft need even now that the airport is open.
