Worth knowing about Galway
- Galway Airport (GWY/EICM) at Carnmore has had no scheduled passenger flights since 31 October 2011 and is now used only by the Galway Flying Club, so nobody flies into Galway itself.
- Shannon Airport is the nearest airport with scheduled service, around 85 km south of Galway, and Bus Eireann Expressway route 51 runs 16 return services a day directly between the airport and Galway.
- Many visitors instead land at Dublin Airport: Citylink alone runs four numbered Galway services from the airport (660, 760, 761 and 763), with 760 marketed as the non-stop direct.
