Worth knowing about Zinder
- Zinder is called an international airport but generally handles only Niger Airlines domestic flights to Niamey. In 2018 it saw about 30 flights and 2,500 passengers for the whole year.
- The airport has been run by ASECNA, the regional air navigation agency, since 11 February 2020, and has a single asphalt runway of 1,825 metres a few kilometres southwest of the town.
- Zinder sits 861 km east of Niamey and 240 km north of Kano in Nigeria. The UK Foreign Office advises against all travel to Niger and says travel outside Niamey requires a Nigerien security and military escort.
