Getting into Da Nang
- Taxi from Da Nang airport to Da Nang city centre (DAD), about 15 minutes

Worth knowing about Da Nang
- Da Nang airport sits inside the city: Vietnam Airlines puts it approximately 3 kilometres southwest of the city centre, 10 to 15 minutes by taxi in normal traffic. Vietnam's national tourism board gives about five kilometres.
- DAD is the arrival airport for central Vietnam generally: Vietnam's national tourism board states it is 29 kilometres from Hoi An Ancient Town and 98 kilometres from Hue.
- The road north from Da Nang to Hue runs through the 6,280 m Hai Van Tunnel on National Route 1, opened 5 June 2005, which cut 20 km off the old Hai Van Pass route.
- The airport has two separate terminals, one international and one domestic; international Terminal 2 was added in 2017.
- Taxis wait just outside both Da Nang arrivals halls around the clock. The city lists seven licensed firms: Mai Linh, Tien Sa, VinaSun, Hai Van, Datranco, Taxi Da Nang and Xanh SM. Carry cash, as only some take Visa or Mastercard, and expect an airport entry fee of 10,000 to 30,000 dong.
- Danabus routes 12 and 06 and the Hai Van Bus stop at pillar 2 outside Terminal 1 and pillars 7 and 8 outside Terminal 2. Danabus runs 05:30 to 19:00; Hai Van Bus, which goes straight to Hoi An, runs 07:30 to 16:00.
- Bus route 03 to Ba Na Hills runs from Man Thien Street and passes near the airport without stopping there, so arriving passengers have to reach it another way.
- SIM card counters sit in the Da Nang baggage claim area. Bring your passport, since the city tourism portal says one must be shown to register a SIM.
- Visa on arrival at Da Nang works only with an approval letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department, handled at a counter on the Terminal 2 ground floor. Passports need six months of validity and a blank page, and the automated gates serve only Vietnamese citizens.
- Domestic Terminal 1 and international Terminal 2 are joined by a covered walkway, and the city runs a Da Nang Visitor Support Center in both. Allow two to three hours for a connection between a domestic and an international flight.
- Da Nang airport publishes live security and immigration queue times on a Waiting Time Dashboard, and advises extra time during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival and other peak periods.
