Getting into Hoi An

Worth knowing about Hoi An
- Hoi An has no airport of its own. The nearest is Da Nang International Airport (DAD), 28 km to the north, about a 40 minute drive; Chu Lai International Airport is an alternative 73 km to the south.
- Vietnam's national tourism board measures Hoi An Ancient Town at 29 kilometres from Da Nang airport and Hue at 98 kilometres, and states that all international airports in Vietnam have free WiFi.
- Heading north from Hoi An to Hue, National Route 1 passes through the 6,280 m Hai Van Tunnel between Da Nang and Hue, opened 5 June 2005, which saves between 30 minutes and an hour over the old Hai Van Pass road.
- Hoi An Old Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999; road access from Da Nang runs via National Route 14B and Provincial Road 607 or the coastal road, and a waterway link via the Co Co River is being developed.
