Worth knowing about Bulawayo
- Immigration and the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority work at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International from 06:00 to 19:00, and outside those hours only by prior arrangement. A late arrival needs to have been notified in advance.
- The airport works a 14 hour day covering air traffic control, meteorology, security and fire cover, and has been sized for 1.5 million passengers a year since its terminal was rehabilitated and reopened on 1 November 2013.
- Bulawayo is the hub of Zimbabwe's rail network and the headquarters of the National Railways of Zimbabwe, yet as of September 2025 NRZ ran no passenger services anywhere in the country. The Bulawayo to Victoria Falls train is among those that have not come back since 2020.
- Bulawayo station is the junction of the line towards Lusaka and Gaborone and the terminus of the Beira to Bulawayo line through Gweru, Harare and Mutare, and the Beitbridge Bulawayo Railway to South Africa joins on the outskirts at Umzingwane.
- A commuter train service was revived in Bulawayo on a single line in November 2018, the only passenger rail the city has had since the Freedom Trains of 2001 to 2006.
