What this category covers
Getting a working profile onto the phone in your hand, and nothing else. The three articles split by platform because the menus genuinely differ, and by outcome because a failed install needs a different page from a successful one.
- The iPhone install, including the Add Cellular Plan sheet and the roaming switch
- The Android install, including where each manufacturer hides the eSIM menu
- What a failed install means, what it costs, and how to retry
- Why there is one Passport rather than one eSIM per country
What it does not cover
An install that finished is not a connection. If the profile is on the phone and the phone still says no service, that is a network problem and it lives one category over.
- No service after landing, with a profile already installed, is in Troubleshooting
- Connected but no internet is in Troubleshooting
- Moving an existing install to a new handset is in Account, wallet and Miles
- Whether your model supports eSIM at all is in Getting started
The three things that go wrong during an install
| What goes wrong | Why it happens | The fix, in one line |
|---|---|---|
| The phone is carrier locked | A locked handset refuses every eSIM profile, not just ours, and the error text rarely says so | Ask your home operator to unlock it, then retry. The failed attempt has already been refunded. |
| The connection dropped mid download | An eSIM profile is a single download that cannot resume, and airport wifi drops it more than any other network | Retry on a stable connection. Hotel wifi or your home line before you fly both beat an airport. |
| The phone is out of eSIM profile slots | Most phones hold a limited number of stored profiles, and old trips leave theirs behind | Delete one unused profile in Settings and retry. Nothing you have bought is lost. |
All three are refunded automatically the moment provisioning fails, so a retry never costs you a second payment.
Which article answers which symptom
| What you are seeing | Read this |
|---|---|
| An iPhone, and you have not started yet | How do I install Orbislo on iPhone |
| An Android, and you cannot find the eSIM menu | How do I install Orbislo on Android |
| An error message, or a download that stopped | The install failed. What now |
| Installed, but the phone says no service | No service after I landed, in Troubleshooting |
What to have ready before you contact support about an install
An install failure is diagnosable in one reply if you send four things with the first message. Ori collects three of them automatically when you ask from inside the app, which is why asking from the app is faster than emailing.
- The exact error text on screen, including any code, photographed rather than retyped
- Your phone model and OS version
- How many eSIM profiles are already on the phone, and whether any are unused
- Whether the phone was on wifi or mobile data when the download ran
The numbers behind this category
We hold install notes for 67 models across 7 brands, written from real installs rather than from spec sheets, because manufacturers move the eSIM menu between Android versions and do not say so. A failed provisioning attempt is refunded inside 60 seconds with no ticket. Support answers in under 60 seconds, 24 hours a day.
Where the next category starts
Once the profile is installed and the line is live, everything after that is Using and managing your data: checking how much is left, tethering, and pooling a balance across up to eight people. If the install worked but the phone has no bars, skip both and go to Troubleshooting.
