Mumbai Metro hat 4 Linien. Eröffnet 2014. Der Betreiber veröffentlicht nicht, ob die Tunnel Empfang haben, also behaupten wir es nicht.
Wissenswertes über Mumbai
- Das WLAN am Flughafen Mumbai akzeptiert für den Einmalcode auch eine internationale Mobilfunknummer, nicht nur eine indische, was in Indien ungewöhnlich ist. Kann keine Nummer die SMS empfangen, prüft stattdessen ein Information Desk oder ein Wi-Fi Kiosk den Reisepass.
- Die Aqua Line, Linie 3, ist die erste vollständig unterirdische U-Bahn Linie in Mumbai. Sie führt über 33.5 km mit 27 Stationen von Cuffe Parade ganz im Süden bis Aarey JVLR.
- Die U-Bahn Station Terminal 2 wurde am 7. Oktober 2024 eröffnet, liegt etwa 30 m unter der Erde und ist über eine 100 m lange Fußgängerbrücke mit dem Terminal verbunden.
- Der einzige vom Flughafen genannte SIM Schalter ist Airtel im Ankunftsbereich auf Level 2 in Terminal 2.
- Die Mumbai Metro wurde am 8. Juni 2014 eröffnet und hatte bis April 2026 etwa 101 km auf vier Linien in Betrieb.
- The Mumbai One app, launched in October 2025, sells a single ticket valid across 11 operators, including suburban trains, metro lines 1, 2A, 3 and 7, the monorail and BEST buses.
- Mumbai One also shows live delays, alternative routes and estimated arrival times, and includes an SOS button for commuter safety.
- The final stretch of the underground Aqua Line, Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, opened on 8 October 2025, putting Fort, Kala Ghoda, Marine Drive and Nariman Point on the same line as the airport's Terminal 2 station.
- Navi Mumbai International Airport, the region's second international airport, was inaugurated on 8 October 2025. It is planned to handle 90 million passengers a year eventually and to be the first airport in India reached by water taxi.
- Metered auto rickshaws work at both terminals but only in the suburbs, from Borivali to Bandra in the west and up to Sion in the centre. For South Mumbai, take a taxi, app cab or the metro.
- The nearest suburban railway stations are Vile Parle East for the domestic terminal and Andheri East for the international terminal. BEST route 312 runs to Vile Parle and route 321 serves the international terminal.
- Marol Naka, on Metro Line 1 between Versova and Ghatkopar, is the Line 1 station closest to Terminal 2, for connections across the western and eastern suburbs.
