• Asunción's airport is not in the city but in neighbouring Luque, 10 km from downtown, and a single city bus line, 30-A, links the two.

• DINAC says the new boarding area adds 2,245 square metres with two new telescopic jet bridges, new lighting, air conditioning and renovated toilets, fully open to passengers from late November 2025.
• Puerto Jose Falcon, facing Clorinda in Argentina, is Paraguay's second busiest crossing with Argentina. A reciprocal recognition system will let both exit and entry checks happen in one stop.
• Asuncion lies on the eastern bank of the Paraguay river just north northeast of its confluence with the Pilcomayo. The river separates the city from the Occidental Region, the Chaco.
• Asuncion was once the country's main river port, a role now held by Villeta downstream. River commerce still runs past the city on the Paraguay river.
• The Paraguay river waterway moves an average of 15 million tonnes a year, and the government is clearing 13 rocky passages to raise that toward 40 million tonnes.
