- At Harry Reid, taxis wait outside baggage claim: on the east side near doors 1 to 4 at Terminal 1, and on Level Zero near door 52 at Terminal 3. Uber and Lyft pick up inside the parking garages, on Level 2 at Terminal 1 and the Valet Level at Terminal 3.
- Taxis between the airport and the Strip charge flat fares in three zones, in either direction, for direct trips only. Any stop along the way switches the ride to the meter, and a card fee may be added on top of the zone fare.
- Nevada law forbids taxi drivers from deceiving passengers, and a driver who fails to charge the correct airport zone fare faces fines or loss of permit. Complaints go to the Nevada Taxicab Authority on 702-668-4005 with the cab number and company.
- RTC's Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip to downtown and Fremont Street 24 hours a day, roughly every 10 to 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. and every 20 minutes overnight.
- Beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Vegas Loop carries riders in Tesla cars through about 2 miles of tunnel between five campus stations free of charge. Rides to stations beyond the convention center campus need a ticket.
- Red Rock Canyon lies 17 miles west of the Strip on Charleston Boulevard. From October 1 to May 31, driving its 13 mile Scenic Drive between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. needs a timed entry reservation from Recreation.gov, so book before leaving town.
- Death Valley National Park has limited to no cell phone service. The Park Service advises anyone heading into the backcountry to leave an itinerary with a contact and carry a satellite messenger or similar device for emergency calls.
