Da sapere su Hamburg

• Hochbahn dichiara che nelle sue gallerie della U-Bahn non c'è ancora una rete LTE adeguata, ed è per questo che i suoi treni non hanno wifi a bordo anche se le stazioni sono collegate in fibra.
• La S1 si divide a Ohlsdorf. Solo le prime tre carrozze proseguono per l'aeroporto, la parte posteriore va invece a Poppenbuttel.
• La stazione S-Bahn dell'aeroporto è sotterranea, si raggiunge direttamente dai Terminal 1 e 2 con ascensore o scala mobile ed è stata aperta solo l'11 dicembre 2008.
• Hamburg Airport è stato aperto a gennaio 1911 ed è il più antico aeroporto internazionale del mondo ancora in funzione. È stato intitolato a Helmut Schmidt a novembre 2016.
• La S1 passa ogni 10 minuti tra circa le 6 del mattino e le 11 di sera e impiega 25 minuti per tratta fino alla Hauptbahnhof.

• HADAG ferry line 62 belongs to the hvv network and leaves Landungsbruecken pier 3 for Finkenwerder about every 15 minutes between 06:45 and 22:15 on weekdays, calling at the Fischmarkt, Dockland and Neumuehlen/Oevelgoenne on the way.
• Buying single and day tickets in the hvv switch app earns a 7 percent discount, which also applies to upgrades. Season tickets and tourist offers get no online discount.
• Airport buses stop in front of Terminal 1 on the arrivals level. Night bus 606 links the airport with the Hauptbahnhof and the Rathausmarkt, and taxis wait outside both terminals, taking cash or cards.
• Hamburg's culture and tourism tax is a fixed amount per guest and night, set by the net room price. For bookings from 2025 it is 1.20 euros up to 50 euros, 2.40 euros up to 100 and 4.80 euros up to 200.
• The tax falls on the hotel, which may pass it on to the guest but does not have to. It covers stays shorter than two months, and business trips have been taxed since 1 January 2023.
