Da sapere su Doha
- Hamad International Airport has its own Doha Metro Red Line station at Terminal 1, which opened in December 2019.
- The Doha Metro runs underground through central Doha and at grade or elevated on the outskirts, so coverage changes along a single ride.
- The airport is operated by Qatar Airways itself rather than by a separate airport company.
- Ooredoo has a dedicated kiosk in the Arrivals Hall at Hamad International Airport where travellers can buy a SIM card, top up a balance, or sign up for a prepaid or postpaid bundle.
- Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority says telecom lines can be registered digitally using facial recognition, with the Qatar ID for residents and a passport for visitors.
- Besides wifi, Hamad International Airport provides complimentary internet kiosks and desks with screens and keyboards throughout the terminal and at its five activity nodes.
- Airport taxis are operated by Mowasalat from the Taxi Pavilion at the left end of the Arrivals Hall, and accept MasterCard, VISA, Apple Pay, Google Pay and NAPS.
- All buses serving Hamad International Airport are operated by Mowasalat and depart from the Bus Pavilion to the right of the arrivals hall.
- Doha Metro tickets are travel cards bought from vending machines at the stations, and some retailers sell metro cards as well.
- Qatar Tourism notes that travellers can catch a free Metrolink bus from Doha Metro stations.
- Doha Metro trains run at Grade of Automation 4, unattended train operation with nobody driving, at a top speed of 107 km/h.
- Msheireb is the hub of the Doha Metro network and the interchange where the Red, Green and Gold Lines meet. Qatar Tourism calls it the largest station on the map.
- The Doha Metro is operated by RKH Qitarat, a joint venture of Qatar's Hamad Group with the French operators Keolis and RATP Dev, which also runs the Lusail Tram.
- The separate Lusail Tram runs three operational lines with 21 stations over 15.9 km, and connects to the Doha Metro at Legtaifiya.
- Hamad International Airport opened on 30 April 2014, replacing the nearby Doha International Airport. It is built over 36 square kilometres, half of that on reclaimed land.
- The Orchard inside Hamad International Airport is a 6,000 square metre indoor tropical garden with over 300 trees and more than 25,000 plants and shrubs.
