Su quale rete finisci
| Operatore | Ruolo | 5G |
|---|---|---|
Cechia: operatori mobili
- T-Mobile Czech Republic: T-Mobile held 38.43 percent of active retail mobile SIM cards in mid 2025, the largest share of the Czech market, according to the telecoms regulator's annual report for 2025.
- O2 Czech Republic: O2 held 33.18 percent of active retail mobile SIM cards in mid 2025, and it won the 700 MHz block that carries a national roaming duty and service for the state's emergency and security forces.
- Vodafone Czech Republic: Vodafone held 25.15 percent of active retail mobile SIM cards in mid 2025, while virtual operators without their own radio networks shared the remaining 3.24 percent, according to the regulator.
Cechia: reti più vecchie
- T-Mobile switched off its Czech 3G network at the end of November 2021 and moved the 2100 MHz frequencies to LTE and 5G, saying fewer than one percent of its customers still used 3G for data.
- The regulator requires the Czech 2G networks to keep running until at least 30 June 2028, a condition attached to the 2100 MHz licences, so basic phones that only support 2G still work in Czechia for now.
- When the regulator renewed O2's 2100 MHz licence in December 2021, it obliged O2 to keep its 2G network running until at least 2028 unless the share of 2G users fell below five percent, to protect people using basic phones.
Cechia: il 5G
- Czechia auctioned its 5G frequencies in the 700 MHz and 3400 to 3600 MHz bands in November 2020, raising 5.596 billion koruna, with blocks going to O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, CentroNet and Nordic Telecom 5G.
- In the 2020 auction, O2 and CentroNet won 20 MHz blocks at 3400 to 3600 MHz that carry a duty to lease frequencies to industry, while PODA and Sev.en Innovations took part but won nothing.
- Vodafone runs its Czech 5G on the 700, 1800, 2100 and 3500 MHz bands, so a phone needs support for those frequencies to use Vodafone's 5G network in Czechia.
Cechia: note sulla rete
- The regulator measured every Czech motorway again in 2026, in both directions and including tunnels, sampling signal roughly every 25 metres, and found 2G and 4G coverage at 100 percent on the motorways listed, with 5G slightly lower on some.
- A 2025 measurement of the transit rail corridors, including tunnels, found stretches with uncovered points, and the regulator warns that several gaps in a row can leave a phone without enough time to reconnect, so a train journey can feel less covered than the figures suggest.
- Holders of the Czech 800 MHz licences were required in 2014 to cover, within seven years, 95 percent of the population of every district with indoor signal, plus all motorways and all transit rail corridors.
