- L'aeroporto di Nicosia non è più in uso commerciale dall'invasione del 1974. L'ultimo volo commerciale è partito nel 1977 e il sito è oggi il quartier generale della forza di pace dell'ONU.
- Da quando Nicosia International ha chiuso, Larnaca (aperto nel 1975) e Paphos (aperto nel 1983) gestiscono tutto il traffico della Repubblica di Cipro, quindi ogni arrivo a Nicosia è un trasferimento su strada.
- Cipro non ha più una ferrovia passeggeri da quando la Cyprus Government Railway ha fatto circolare il suo ultimo treno il 31 dicembre 1951, quindi autobus, taxi e auto a noleggio sono gli unici trasporti di terra sull'isola.

- Kapnos buses leave on schedule even when flights are late and cannot wait for individual passengers. If you miss your booked departure, the ticket stays valid for the next bus that day, if there is one.
- A standard Kapnos ticket includes one 20 kg suitcase and one carry-on of up to 8 kg, and extra luggage or sports equipment can be added when booking. Luggage cannot travel unaccompanied.
- Kapnos picks up right at the airport door and offers free parking at its Nicosia Shuttle Station, handy for residents leaving a car while they fly.

- Nicosia bus drivers issue only one-way, rural one-way and night tickets. Other tickets come from sales offices, and the 4-trip, 2-day and 3-day paper smart cards are also sold from vending machines.
- On a 4-trip paper smart card, once all four rides are used in a single service day, any further trips that day are free, so it behaves like a day pass.
- Tap a Motion card on the validator beside the driver as you board. A green light and a beep confirm it, while a red light and an error sound mean the tap failed.
