Toronto에서 알아두면 좋은 것
- TTC는 지하철망의 일부 구역에서 5G 이동통신을 쓸 수 있다고 밝힙니다. 전 구간은 아니므로, 지하 구간에서는 역 사이에서 연결이 끊길 수 있습니다.
- 공항으로 가는 두 수단은 성격이 크게 다릅니다. UP Express는 중간 정차역 세 곳(Weston, Mount Dennis, Bloor)만 서며 Pearson에서 Union Station까지 28분에 갑니다. TTC는 도심에서 Pearson까지 약 45분 걸리고 일반 TTC 요금 한 번이면 됩니다.
- Billy Bishop 공항은 섬에 있습니다. 들어가는 방법은 121미터 Western Gap을 건너는 90초짜리 페리(보행자 무료, 차량 왕복 $15, 05:15부터 00:07까지 15분마다)나 보행 터널뿐입니다.
- Billy Bishop 보행 터널은 길이 853피트이고 Lake Ontario의 Western Channel 아래 100피트 깊이를 지납니다. 엘리베이터 여섯 대와 무빙워크 네 대를 이용하면 육지 쪽 건물에서 체크인까지 6분이 안 걸립니다. 미리 접속해 두지 않았다면 이 구간에서는 신호가 잡히지 않습니다.
- Billy Bishop 공항은 매일 05:00부터 23:00까지 운영합니다. 그래서 늦은 저녁에 Toronto에 도착하면 도심이 아니라 Pearson 공항에 내립니다.
- The quickest TTC bus to Pearson is the 900 Airport Express from Kipling station at the west end of Line 2. It makes only a few stops, reaches the terminals in about 20 to 25 minutes, and runs from roughly 5:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday to Saturday.
- Pearson has overnight buses too. The 300A Bloor-Danforth runs from about 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. and takes around an hour from Yonge and Bloor, and the 334A Eglinton links Kennedy station with the airport in about 75 minutes.
- TTC buses stop at Terminal 1 ground level and Terminal 3 arrivals level. Both stops are inside the Toronto fare zone, so one TTC fare covers the ride, but Mississauga Transit fares are not accepted there.
- UP Express trains leave Pearson from 5:27 a.m. on weekdays and 6:24 a.m. at weekends, with the last train at 12:54 a.m. The station is in Terminal 1, next to the Terminal Link train to Terminal 3.
- You can ride UP Express by tapping a contactless credit or debit card, a phone or watch wallet, or a PRESTO card. Tap off at the end too, or you are charged the maximum fare from the station where you started.
- Signal in the subway tunnels is being added section by section. Every station and the downtown tunnels had coverage by late 2023, and the TTC's December 2025 projection was 88 per cent of tunnels by the end of 2026 and the whole system by mid-2027.
- Rogers owns the subway's cellular network, and after a 2023 deal Bell and Telus customers use it as well. Line 4 Sheppard is the stretch where tunnel work had not yet started at the end of 2025.
- Line 5 Eglinton opened to riders on 8 February 2026, and the TTC now also lists Line 6 Finch West as open, so the rail map runs to Lines 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6.
- Toronto hotels and short-term rentals add a 6 per cent Municipal Accommodation Tax. The rate dropped back to 6 per cent for stays starting 1 August 2026, when a temporary 8.5 per cent rate ended.
- To reach Billy Bishop by TTC, take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar west from Union Station, or the 511 Bathurst streetcar south from Bathurst station, then walk south on Bathurst Street to the ferry terminal building.
