iPhone에 Orbislo를 어떻게 설치하나요?
- Orbislo
Why there is no QR code
Because iOS 17.4 added a way for an app to hand a profile straight to the system. Before that, every eSIM in the category was delivered as a QR code you had to display on a second screen and scan with the phone you were installing on, which is a problem if the second screen is the laptop you left at home. On 17.4 and newer the app calls the system sheet directly and there is nothing to scan.
Why Data Roaming has to be on, and why it cannot cost you anything
The Orbislo line is not a local line. It reaches KDDI in Japan, Orange in France and whichever partner we hold in the country you are standing in, and reaching a network that is not your own home network is what the phone calls roaming. iOS defaults that switch to off on a new line. Turning it on for the Orbislo line only affects the Orbislo line, and there is no per megabyte charge behind it to run up.
When the install sheet does not appear
Four causes, in the order they occur.
- You are below iOS 17.4. Update, on wifi, and the sheet appears.
- The phone is carrier locked. No profile will install until your operator unlocks it.
- The phone has no free eSIM slot. Delete one unused profile in Settings, Cellular, and retry.
- The download dropped mid transfer. Retry on a stable connection. The failed attempt was already refunded.
The two switches people miss on iPhone
| Switch | Where it is | What happens if it is off |
|---|---|---|
| Data Roaming, on the Orbislo line | Settings, Cellular, Orbislo | No service at all, however good the signal is |
| Cellular Data set to Orbislo | Settings, Cellular, Cellular Data | The phone stays on your home line and roams at your operator's price |
| Allow Cellular Data Switching | Settings, Cellular, Cellular Data | Nothing bad. Leave it off abroad so the phone cannot drift back to your home line |
The first two are the whole of the post install setup. The third is optional and worth doing.
What we do automatically and what needs you
We check the model and the iOS version before you pay and tell you if the install cannot work. We refund a failed provisioning attempt inside 60 seconds without a ticket. Two things need you and neither is optional: turning on Data Roaming for the Orbislo line, and setting Cellular Data to Orbislo so the phone actually routes through it.
The numbers, and where they came from
The install takes about 40 seconds on a normal connection, and median time from tapping buy to being online is 41 seconds. It is one install per phone, ever. We keep notes on 67 models across 7 brands, and the Apple ones are the least interesting in that set precisely because Apple ships one build.
Dual SIM, and deciding what each line does
After the install you have two lines and iOS asks you which does what. There are three settings and only two matter. Cellular Data should be Orbislo, so browsing, maps and apps go over the data you bought. Default Voice Line should stay on your home number, so people can still call you. Allow Cellular Data Switching should be off while you travel, because on it the phone can quietly fall back to your home line and roam at your operator's price. Those three screens are all in Settings, Cellular, and they take under a minute in total.
