- At Philip Goldson International, the Ladyville Airport Taxi Association runs the taxis, and its ticket counter is at the exit of the international arrivals hall. Downtown Belize City, where the water taxis depart, is 10 miles from the airport.
- Tropic Air and Maya Island Air both check in at Terminal 1 of the international airport. Tropic Air, which is based in San Pedro, advertises hourly flights to the island on Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft.
- Connecting off a long-haul flight with extra bags? Tropic Air asks for at least three hours at Philip Goldson, because excess baggage may travel on a later flight when the small aircraft runs out of hold space.
- The barrier reef is about a 20 minute boat ride from San Pedro. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark-Ray Alley are the usual snorkel trips, and the Bacalar Chico Reserve covers the north of the island.
- Philip Goldson's published opening hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, with services outside those hours on request. The airport asks passengers to arrive 3 to 4 hours before departure.
- Across the road from the Philip Goldson terminal, the Rental Services Center houses a telecommunications office and 14 car rental agencies, useful before you leave the mainland for the island.
