What this category covers
The account rather than the connection. Everything here survives a lost phone, a new handset and a year without travelling, and that is the point of it having its own category.
- What a wallet gigabyte is, and why leftovers from a country pack flow back into it
- Moving an account, a balance and a number to a new phone in two taps
- Suspending a lost or stolen handset from any browser
- What Miles are worth, at 5% back rising to 8%
What it does not cover
Buying, installing and fixing are elsewhere. So is anything with an invoice on it, because tax treatment and refunds are their own subject and their own category.
- Buying your first plan is in Getting started
- Installing the profile on the new phone is in Installing your eSIM
- Invoices, refunds and price drops are in Billing and refunds
- Pooling a balance across a family is in Using and managing your data
The three things that go wrong with an account
| What goes wrong | Why it happens | The fix, in one line |
|---|---|---|
| A balance looks missing after a new phone | The new handset is signed into a second account created with a different email or a social login | Sign out and sign in with the original email. The balance is on the account, never on the handset. |
| A country pack ran out with data left in it | Nothing was lost. Whatever was left flowed back into the wallet when the pack ended | Check the wallet balance rather than the pack. The returned gigabytes are already there. |
| An account sat unused for two years | Rollover pauses after 24 months of complete inactivity, which is the only expiry mechanism in the product | Open the app or make any purchase. We email you at 21 months, three months before it can happen. |
None of these three loses you data. Two are the balance being somewhere other than where you looked, and the third has a three month warning attached to it.

What to have ready before you contact support about an account
Account questions are the one place where we will not take your word for who you are, because the balance is worth money. Have these ready and the check takes one exchange rather than four.
- The email address the account was opened with, spelled exactly
- The order number of any purchase on the account, from the invoice
- The last four digits of the card used, if you paid by card
- For a lost phone, the model and the approximate time you last used it
The numbers behind this category
A gigabyte costs $4.89 at 1 GB and $1.36 a gigabyte at 50 GB, and the ladder in between is published on the pricing page rather than quoted here. Miles run from 5% to 8% back, one Mile is one cent, and they do not expire. Installing pays 300 Miles once. A referral pays $5.00 and 250 Miles to both sides.
Where the next category starts
The moment the question involves a charge, a receipt or getting money back, it belongs in Billing and refunds. That is also where the price drop rule lives: if what you bought drops in price within thirty days, the difference is already back in your wallet without you asking.
