- Velana International Airport is on Hulhule, a separate island from Male; until the Sinamale Bridge opened in 2018 the only link was a ferry.
- The 1.39 km Sinamale Bridge, opened in August 2018, was the first inter-island bridge in the Maldives and now carries road traffic between Male, Hulhule and Hulhumale.
