- Boracay is a 10.32 km2 island 0.8 km off Panay; every arrival requires a boat from Caticlan jetty port to Cagban, with Tambisaan used in certain weather.
- The nearer airport, Caticlan (MPH), is the island's main gateway; Kalibo (KLO) is 68 km by road from Caticlan port and is the bad-weather alternative.
- Caticlan began international flights on 26 December 2022, but that service was later suspended.
- Boracay was closed to tourists entirely for six months in 2018 for sewage system rehabilitation, reopening in October 2018.
- SIM cards in the Philippines must be registered before activation under the SIM Registration Act (RA 11934), in force since 28 October 2022.
