- Kiruna Airport is Sweden's northernmost, at 67 degrees 49 minutes north - well inside the Arctic Circle.
- Kiruna is being relocated: the airport is about 10 km from the old town centre but only about 4 km from the new one, so transfer distance depends on which centre you are heading for.
- Most flights are domestic to Stockholm-Arlanda, with only seasonal international service (Air France to Paris, Eurowings to Dusseldorf, SAS to Copenhagen), so schedules thin out sharply outside the winter season.
- The airport bus network extends across the border to Narvik in Norway via Abisko and Riksgransen on a seasonal basis, so a road transfer here can cross into a different country's network.
