Antwerpで知っておきたいこと
- Antwerp has no full metro. Its 'premetro' is an underground tram: 8 of De Lijn's 14 tram lines run partly in tunnels, and the rest of each route is on the street.
- The premetro tunnels have been in use since 1975, when Groenplaats station opened.
- Antwerpen-Centraal station has through tracks 18 m below street level feeding a tunnel that runs under the city, so trains in and out of Antwerp spend part of the journey underground.
- Antwerp International Airport's runway is only 1,510 m long, which limits it to aircraft no larger than a Boeing 757 and keeps its scheduled network to a handful of holiday and regional routes.
- Antwerp is about 40 km north of Brussels and has direct international intercity trains that call at Brussels Airport, so Brussels Airport is a realistic arrival point for the city.
