Montrealで知っておきたいこと
- 747 の空港シャトルは 1 日 24 時間、週 7 日運行しており、$11.25 の運賃は zone A のバス、地下鉄、exo の列車、REM で使える 24 時間パスも兼ねています。
- 空港へ向かう REM のライトレール支線はまだ旅客を運んでいません。REM は 2026 年 8 月に YUL-Aeroport-Montreal-Trudeau 支線で動的試験を開始したとしており、ターミナルからの公共交通の接続は 747 のバスのみです。
- 携帯の電波はホームだけでなく地下鉄全体で通じます。4G LTE の整備は 68 駅すべてと 71 km のトンネルで完了しており、駅間を移動している間もデータ接続が維持されます。
- 空港の Wi-Fi は 1 セッションあたりの上限があります。ログインすると最大 60 分間無料で利用でき、メールアドレスでの認証が必要です。その後は再接続して新しいセッションを開始します。
- YUL の SIM のキオスクは制限区域外にあり、一般の到着階の 27 番と 28 番のドアの間 (ChatR と Rogers/Fido) にあります。保安検査を通過した後は行けません。
- The city runs its own free network, MTLWiFi, at more than 275 sites including libraries, parks, some borough offices, tourist sites and commercial streets. Join the network named MTLWiFi with no password; it runs around the clock at up to 30 Mbps per user.
- MTLWiFi is open and unencrypted. The city blocks traffic between devices and runs a firewall, but what you send is not encrypted, so leave banking and other sensitive logins for mobile data.
- Taxis from YUL to downtown Montreal charge a fixed fare: $49.45 from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and $56.70 overnight. Other destinations are metered, starting at $4.10 plus $2.05 per kilometre and $0.77 per minute in the daytime, with a $21.65 minimum.
- For UberX at YUL, walk through door 28 on the arrivals level to the Leigh-Capreol drop-off area, get a PIN in the app and queue for the next car. Uber Black picks up at door 25, and from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. the app guides you instead.
- At the airport, the free network to choose is named ".YUL Wi-Fi", with a leading dot. Sign-in takes an email address.
- The REM automated light metro now serves 23 stations on its branches to Brossard, Deux-Montagnes and Anse-à-l'Orme.
- Metered taxi rates from YUL rise between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.: the meter starts at $4.70 and adds $2.35 per kilometre and $0.89 per minute, with a minimum fare of $24.75.
