Limassolで知っておきたいこと
- Limassol 自体に空港はありません。Larnaca は北東約 60 km、Paphos は北西約 50 km にあり、どちらもおおむね長距離バスでの移動になります。
- 両空港は Limassol Airport Express で市内と結ばれています。発着は海沿いや旧市街ではなく Chavouzas 駅です。
- Limassol は Cyprus の旅客船の交通のほぼすべてを扱っており、クルーズでの到着は空港ではなくここになります。
- Cyprus では 1951 年 12 月 31 日に最後の列車が走って以降、旅客鉄道はありません。そのためどの空港を使っても移動は道路によります。
- Limassol Airport Express coaches are air-conditioned with free Wi-Fi on board, and their timetables are aligned with flight schedules at Larnaca and Paphos.
- On the Larnaca route the Airport Express makes an extra stop in the tourist area opposite the St Raphael Hotel, and Agios Georgios Havouzas station, where the coaches start, has free parking.
- EMEL route 30 runs along the seafront between My Mall in the west and the Parklane Hotel in the east, and route 30N covers the same line at night.
- For beach days, route 16 runs from Leontiou EMEL station and route 18 from My Mall to Kourion Beach, while route 33 links Limassol Marina with Episkopi.
- EMEL route 40 connects Limassol with the villages of Omodos, Pachna, Agios Amvrosios and Kantou, the public bus option for a trip inland.
- A Limassol daily bus ticket runs until 4:00 the following morning rather than for 24 hours, and passengers found without a valid ticket during a check are fined on the spot.
- An anonymous Motion plastic card works on buses in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and the free Famagusta area and on intercity routes, with up to two transfers within 60 minutes. The multi-journey paper card is valid only in the district where it was bought.
- Cyprus Bus, the official app of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, shows timetables and the actual arrival time of each bus at every stop across the island.
- The Airport Express sells a connection ticket between Larnaca and Paphos airports through Limassol, handy if you land at one and fly out of the other. Children aged 3 to 12 pay the child fare.
- Coaches for Larnaca Airport reach the tourist-area stop about 15 minutes after leaving Havouzas station, so hotel guests on the seafront can board there instead of crossing town.
- EMEL drivers sell single, night and discounted single paper tickets on board, while monthly tickets are issued at the Leontiou station office by the old hospital.
