- There is no rail link to Auckland Airport; the planned light rail was cancelled in January 2024, leaving the SkyDrive and AirportLink buses.
- Reaching the train network means taking the AirportLink bus to Puhinui station, where the Southern and Eastern Lines each run three trains an hour off-peak.
- The City Rail Link, a pair of 3.45 km tunnels under the Auckland CBD with two new underground stations, is scheduled to open on 13 September 2026.
