- Buses and the Metrotranvia in Gran Mendoza take contactless credit and debit cards, and phones or watches with NFC, tapped on the validator when you board. So a visitor can ride without first buying a SUBE card.
- SUBE Digital is free in the SUBE app on Android 8 or later. You pay by holding the phone, screen on, to the validator. If you register both a physical and a digital SUBE, only one of them gets local fare benefits.
- Gran Mendoza has used SUBE since 2019. The provincial app MendoTran Cuando Subo gives real-time arrivals and routes, and a SUBE holder gets transfer discounts plus a frequent-rider discount from the 21st trip of the month.
- Inside the MendoTran network the Metrotranvia runs as lines 100 and 101, between Gutierrez in Maipu and Las Heras by way of Godoy Cruz and central Mendoza, and its departures appear in Cuando Subo like any bus line.
- Parque General San Martin, the city's big park, got free public Wi-Fi in 2018. Ten transmission points cover its historic core, including the Rosedal, the Fuente de los Continentes and the Caballitos de Marly.
- The high-mountain stretch of Ruta Nacional 7 towards Chile once had long dead zones. In 2014 the province reported 16 new mobile cells giving about 80 percent coverage from Cacheuta to Las Cuevas, with masts at Uspallata, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas and Horcones.
- The Horcones mast was added for tourism. It lets the three national mobile operators serve the Aconcagua park entrance, and it was part of a push to let drivers on the pass call 911 after avalanches stranded 660 people in February 2013.
- Parque Provincial Aconcagua is 185 km from the city along Ruta Nacional 7, and its Horcones entrance sits at 2,800 metres. Tickets are not sold at the gate: you book and pay online before leaving, or you are sent back to the city.
- According to the park authority, Andesmar buses leave the Mendoza bus terminal for Horcones from platforms 40 to 50. The trip takes about four hours, and some departures turn back at Puente del Inca instead of Horcones.
- The Cristo Redentor crossing links Villa Las Cuevas with Los Andes in Chile. Its 24-hour summer schedule began on 16 September 2026, but the national border service warns that snow or wind can close it at any hour, so check its status page before setting off.
