- Metered taxis start at B$3.50 for the first minute or kilometre and add B$0.20 for every 250 m or 15 seconds after that. Airport trips carry a B$3 surcharge, and travel between districts adds B$8.
- Extra charges can apply with more than two pieces of luggage or more than four passengers. Taxis are easy to hail at the airport, hotels and the major shopping centres.
- From the airport there is also a published fixed fare list by destination. Most hotels in and around the capital are B$20 from 6am to 6pm and B$25 from 6pm to midnight, while Muara Jetty is B$40 by day.
- Hire cars are booked online, ideally before you arrive, and cost roughly B$60 to B$100 a day depending on size. For bus routes and times, Brunei Tourism recommends the Moovit app.
