- Signal boosters: Using a mobile signal booster or repeater without an agreement with the mobile operator breaks section 6 of the Danish frequency act and can be punished with a fine. The regulator cannot license one, because operators hold the frequencies across Denmark and its waters.
- roam like at home
- 114 is the police's national service number for matters that are not urgent. It connects to the first available police service centre anywhere in the country, while 112 stays reserved for situations that need urgent help.
- A 112 call from a mobile automatically shows the emergency centre which mast it came through, even for an unlisted number. Android phones also send precise GPS location by default, the regulator recommends leaving that on, and iPhones send GPS data through Apple's equivalent feature.
- Roam like at home applies on a ship or plane only while the phone is connected to a land based mobile network. Onboard systems that connect through satellite are outside the rules, and calls, texts and data over them usually cost far more than normal prices.
- Onboard mobile systems on ships may only operate more than two nautical miles from the coast and must be switched off closer in, for example in port. Several operators block satellite data by default, but that block does not cover calls or texts sent by satellite.
- A phone reported stolen to the police has its IMEI registered first with the operator and then in the international database run by the GSM Association, after which it is refused on mobile networks in Denmark and abroad. Only the person who reported it can have the entry removed, through the police.
- Scam callers often spoof an eight digit Danish number so the call looks local. The regulator advises never calling back unknown foreign numbers and never giving personal details to a caller, and says simply answering such a call does not compromise the phone.
- Police run two of Denmark's 112 emergency centres, in Aarhus and Slagelse, with specially trained officers answering calls. The third, for Greater Copenhagen, is owned by the local councils and the Capital Region and staffed by the capital's fire and rescue service.
- Danish law lets the justice ministry order operators to retain all traffic data when it finds a serious and real threat to national security. The first such order ran from 30 March 2022 to 29 March 2023, based on threat assessments that included Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
