Munich 值得知道的事
- LTE 於 2017 年三月 31 日在全部八條 U-Bahn 路線上線，設備裝在隧道內，並以每秒 10 Gbit 的光纖線路供應。
- S1 和 S8 交錯行駛，形成每 10 分鐘一班，其中 S8 為 24 小時營運，凌晨 1 點到 4 點之間降為每 40 分鐘一班。
- Munich Airport 於 1992 年五月 17 日啟用，就在 Munich-Riem 關閉的隔天，Terminal 2 則於 2003 年六月 29 日啟用。
- 1999 年九月 9 日開幕的 Airbrau，被機場稱為全世界第一座機場啤酒廠，嚴格依照 1516 年純淨法釀造。
- S-Bahn 車站位於 Munich Airport Center 之內，這是一座以大型透明屋頂覆蓋、連接兩座航廈的建築群。
- Munich's free city Wi-Fi comes as two networks. On M-WLAN Free Wi-Fi you accept the terms on a start page, and after 120 minutes you are cut off and have to accept them again.
- The encrypted M-WLAN Secure Wi-Fi needs a one-time sign-up with an email address through the Free Wi-Fi start page. The login arrives by email, works on up to three devices and then connects automatically.
- Stadtwerke Muenchen lists almost 400 M-WLAN hotspots, including 70 public squares and 73 tram stops, with Marienplatz, Stachus, Odeonsplatz and Theresienwiese among the central locations.
- O2 Telefonica switched on 5G across all U-Bahn lines, U1 to U8, in July 2022, after replacing the hardware in the tunnels' technical rooms. It says more than 200 radio cells now serve the underground.
- The MVGO app sells single tickets, day and week tickets without creating an account: you give a name and email address and pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- MVVswipe in the MVGO app works out the cheapest fare for the day's trips and never charges more than a day ticket. Card and wallet payments first reserve up to 40.40 euros, which is released once the bill is issued.
- The S1 is the less frequent airport line: it runs every 20 minutes from about 3am to midnight, and through the night only at weekends and on public holidays.
- The Lufthansa Express Bus leaves every 20 minutes and also stops at Munich North in Schwabing, 25 minutes from the airport, which suits hotels in the north of the city better than the Hauptbahnhof.
- The ÜFEX airport express train runs from the Flughafen Muenchen station between the terminals straight to Freising, Moosburg, Landshut, Regensburg and Nuremberg, so day trips to those cities need no change in Munich.
- Flixbus coaches to cities across Germany and Europe stop a few steps from Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is a five to ten minute walk away.
- A rental car needs a green emissions sticker to drive inside the Mittlerer Ring, and the ring road itself is part of the low emission zone. Older diesels below Euro 5 are barred unless an exemption applies.
