Goaで知っておきたいこと
- Goa is a state, not a city, and has two international airports far apart: Manohar (GOX) at Mopa in the north, 8 km east of Dargalim off NH-66, and Dabolim (GOI) in the south, about 30 km from Panaji. Check which one your ticket uses before booking transport.
- Dabolim's free airport Wi-Fi runs on the AAI scheme: 45 minutes only, and the login is an OTP sent to a valid Indian mobile number, so it is unusable on a data-only travel eSIM with no Indian number.
- At Mopa (GOX) the complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi is offered to domestic passengers after a short registration; international arrivals are told to go to the Information Desk to get connected.
- An Indian mobile number issued to a foreign national stays valid only until the visa validity date, per Airtel's own terms for foreign nationals and tourists.
- Goa has no metro or urban rail. The nearest railway station to Panaji is Karmali, about 8 km away, on the Konkan Railway, a line whose route through the Western Ghats includes around 80 tunnels.
