- From 8 December 2025 Perth buses, trains and ferries accept bank cards, phones and smartwatches for fares, so a short-stay visitor does not need a SmartRider. The SmartRider discount of up to 20 percent does not apply to these payments.
- A SmartRider can be bought at Smarte Carte on the ground floor of Terminal 1 International. The airport notes it gives 10 percent off the cash fare.
- Redcliffe station is not connected to Terminals 3 and 4. Leave the train and take bus route 292, a circular shuttle to the terminal forecourt that runs every 12 minutes in peak times.
- Airport Central station is 18 minutes from Perth Station. Follow the Skybridge walkway from the platform to reach Terminal 2 or the domestic and international halls of Terminal 1.
- The two terminal precincts are a 15 minute drive apart. A transfer shuttle links them every 20 minutes from 6am to 10pm and every 30 minutes overnight, and taxis and rideshare also wait on each forecourt.
- Free Wi-Fi covers Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4: choose Perth Airport Free WiFi, open a browser and register. The airport does not guarantee its security. Dedicated charging stations sit in T2 and on level 1 of T3.
- Taxi ranks stand outside every terminal and a city ride takes about 20 minutes. A $4.50 fee is added for pick-ups at the terminals, and drivers may ask for the fare in advance.
- DiDi and Uber pick up from dedicated rideshare bays near each terminal, and the airport asks you to request a car only once you have your luggage. A $4.50 airport fee applies to every pick-up.
- Vodafone has a store in Terminal 1 International Arrivals that sells prepaid SIM cards for use throughout Australia.
- Central Area Transit buses in the city centre are free, and any Transperth bus trip that starts and ends inside the Free Transit Zone, marked by a logo on the stops, needs no ticket.
- The free Transperth app shows live bus, train and ferry positions, plans journeys and checks a SmartRider balance. Codes on the orange bus stop poles open the next five departures from that stop when scanned with a phone camera.
- Bikes may ride Transperth trains, except at the three city stations in peak times, on inbound trains in the morning peak and on outbound trains in the afternoon peak.
