- San Pedro est sur Ambergris Caye, la plus grande île du Belize ; il n'y a aucune liaison routière, donc l'arrivée se fait en avion, en hélicoptère ou en ferry rapide.
- La piste d'aviation de San Pedro n'a que des vols réguliers intérieurs, Tropic Air vers Belize City International, Belize City Municipal, Caye Caulker et Corozal, donc les arrivées internationales passent par Belize City.
- Un bateau-taxi régulier franchit une frontière internationale par la mer, entre San Pedro et Chetumal au Mexique, que l'exploitant décrit comme à environ une heure et demie.
- San Pedro a obtenu le statut de commune en 1984 et est la seule ville d'Ambergris Caye, avec une population d'environ 13,400 habitants.
- La piste de San Pedro compte une seule piste en asphalte de 1,067 m à 4 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la mer, dimensionnée pour les petits turbopropulseurs qui desservent l'île.
- From Belize City, San Pedro Belize Express boats leave between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and call at Caye Caulker on the way. Going back, the first San Pedro departure is at 6:00 a.m. and the last at 4:30 p.m. on the operator's posted schedule.
- The boat to Chetumal, Mexico, sails only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. It leaves San Pedro at 8:30 a.m. and starts back from Chetumal at 3:30 p.m., and the operator requires check-in two hours before an international departure.
- At Philip Goldson International, the Ladyville Airport Taxi Association runs the taxis, and its ticket counter is at the exit of the international arrivals hall. Downtown Belize City, where the water taxis depart, is 10 miles from the airport.
- Tropic Air and Maya Island Air both check in at Terminal 1 of the international airport. Tropic Air, which is based in San Pedro, advertises hourly flights to the island on Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft.
- Connecting off a long-haul flight with extra bags? Tropic Air asks for at least three hours at Philip Goldson, because excess baggage may travel on a later flight when the small aircraft runs out of hold space.
- The barrier reef is about a 20 minute boat ride from San Pedro. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark-Ray Alley are the usual snorkel trips, and the Bacalar Chico Reserve covers the north of the island.
- Philip Goldson's published opening hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, with services outside those hours on request. The airport asks passengers to arrive 3 to 4 hours before departure.
- Across the road from the Philip Goldson terminal, the Rental Services Center houses a telecommunications office and 14 car rental agencies, useful before you leave the mainland for the island.
