- Accra International Airport sits within the city about 10 km from the centre, and its operator points out that it lies on the Greenwich Meridian close to the Equator.
- Airport taxi meters charge a set amount for the first kilometre and then for each further 100 metres. For the unmetered pool taxis, fares on certain routes are displayed in the arrival hall, and the booths outside can advise.
- Port Health in Terminal 3 handles yellow fever vaccination, and the Airport Clinic, 500 metres from the terminal, is open to the public 24 hours a day.
- The Lost and Found desk in the arrival hall is staffed around the clock. Report a delayed or damaged bag there before leaving the airport, as nothing starts until a report is filed.
- GACL customer service staff wear branded uniforms and have desks in the arrival hall, at baggage reclaim and at departure check-in.
- Leaving Accra, security pats passengers down and checks documents at the departure entrance, and check-in counters open at least two to three hours before takeoff depending on the airline.
- On 14 March 2024 all four cables carrying Ghana's international traffic, ACE, MainOne, SAT-3 and WACS, failed and the country lost 1,596.6 Gbps of capacity. Operators kept minimal data running from local caches.
- The regulator traced the ACE, MainOne and WACS faults to Abidjan and the SAT-3 fault to Portugal, and noted that Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon lost service at the same time.
- An arrivals expansion that GACL began in 2014 added 5,148 square metres of floor space, 26 immigration booths, 10 e-gates, a moving walkway and two more baggage carousels, bringing the total to four.
- Ghana IX, the national internet exchange, operates from several facilities in Accra, and content held at the exchange was among the local caches operators used during the 2024 cable cuts.
