在尼泊爾，21 Mbps 實際代表什麼

在尼泊爾使用 Orbislo 的一般下載速度：21 Mbps。這低於亞洲的中位數 43.9 Mbps，所以先把它算進行程裡，別到了現場才意外。

第十百分位是 5 Mbps。中位數和下限之間有這樣的落差很常見，煩躁也就從這裡來：多數時候很快，在最擁擠的那幾個百分比的時刻明顯變慢，通常發生在尖峰時段的車站和機場。

尼泊爾的 5G：僅 4G。基站配置良好的 4G 可以輕鬆勝過壅塞的 5G，所以上面那個數字是傳輸速率，而不是網路世代。

多數業者不太希望你做的比較，是實際用掉的每 GB 成本。針對旅行數據的獨立調查指出，購買的流量中有 20% 到 35% 因為過期而消失，因為第三十天到期的方案會直接刪掉你沒用完的部分。Orbislo 的流量沒有到期日，你付過錢的那一 GB，下一趟旅行還在。同樣的標價，等於多出 25% 到 40% 真正能用的流量；在尼泊爾，這代表實際成本比較接近每 GB $222.48，而不是 $309.00。

因為不會過期，買尼泊爾的流量最省的方式，是買得比你以為需要的少一點，不夠再加值。加值大約十秒就好，也不用安裝任何東西。買太多在別的地方是昂貴的錯誤，在這裡只是沒差。

抵達尼泊爾之後

出發前先在家裡的 WLAN 上安裝。設定檔會在你還有可信任的連線時下載完成，接著就靜靜待著，直到你降落在尼泊爾並連上 Ncell。

落地後只有一件事要檢查：Orbislo 這條門號的數據漫遊必須打開。iOS 和 Android 預設都是關閉的，而這裡的漫遊跟資費無關，因為方案是預付的，根本沒有帳單會被灌爆。把 Orbislo 那條打開、原本那條關著，你原本的號碼就能繼續接電話和銀行驗證碼，而且不會產生費用。

離開城市之後，涵蓋情形和世界各地一樣：主要幹道和觀光廊帶訊號良好，進到山區和水上就變薄。沒有任何旅行 eSIM 能改變這件事，因為用的是當地居民同一套實體網路。多網路設定檔能改變的，是你可以使用現場哪一座基地台。

在尼泊爾受限的服務

Who may buy a SIM: The regulator lets operators sell a SIM to a foreign national only against a passport or a refugee identity card. Indian citizens may instead show an Indian embassy identity card or an Aadhaar card, so a visitor from any other country needs a passport at the counter.
SIMs per person: Each operator may sell no more than two SIM cards in one person's name, with Nepal Telecom allowed three when a CDMA line is counted. A traveller who already holds two lines with one operator cannot register a third there.
Activation and records: A SIM may be activated only once the customer's full details are in the operator's central database. Operators must record the name and address within 24 hours of the service starting and the full record with a photograph within a week.
Unused SIMs: Operators are directed to send a re-registration notice for any SIM left unused for six months, and to cancel after notice any SIM that has not been used even once in more than six months. A Nepali number kept for a return trip needs occasional use.
Ncell tourist plans: Ncell sells its tourist plans only to people who are not Nepali citizens. The physical SIM is registered and activated against the original passport at Tribhuvan International Airport, Ncell Centres and authorised outlets, and a tourist eSIM is sold online.
Tourist plan expiry: An Ncell tourist plan runs out at the same time of day it was activated rather than at midnight. Once it expires, calls can continue on pay as you go credit, but mobile data works only after another pack is bought.
Nepal Telecom prepaid validity: On a Nepal Telecom prepaid line each top up buys a set validity period: 25 days for a 50 rupee card, 55 days for 100, 130 days for 200, 330 days for 500 and 690 days for 1,000 rupees.
Social media block, 2025: On 4 September 2025 the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology directed the telecom regulator to shut off access to social media platforms that had not registered with it, including Facebook, YouTube, X and Instagram. Viber and TikTok had registered and were not covered.
Block lifted: The block covered 26 sites, among them WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. The government withdrew it early on 9 September 2025, the communications minister announced, after protests in which 19 people were killed.
TikTok, 2023 to 2024: TikTok was blocked by Nepal Telecom, Ncell and more than 30 internet providers from 13 November 2023, by a government citing its negative impact on society. The cabinet lifted the ban in August 2024 after almost nine months, on conditions the company accepted.
Platform registration rules: The Directives on the Operation of Social Networking, introduced in November 2023, require platforms such as Facebook, X, TikTok and YouTube to set up liaison offices in Nepal, and set out a list of prohibited posts for users, including posting through fake accounts.

關於尼泊爾值得知道的事

Nepal 營運一套 Mobile Device Management System，以 IMEI 登記手機，自 Nepal 曆 Jestha 2080 的第一天起適用，把行動手機的使用和進口納入同一份登記簿。
為自用而帶進 Nepal 並在海關辦妥通關的手機會自動登記在該系統中。沒有這樣通關的，旅客必須自行以護照和蓋有出入境章的護照頁，或登機證，把它輸入系統。
主管機關要買方在 Nepal 境內買手機之前，先拿手機和登記簿比對，因為經銷商只能販售已經記錄在裡面的裝置。
登記簿對遺失或失竊的手機另有一套流程，主管機關要求在通報裝置之前，先向服務業者把 SIM 卡封鎖。
Emergency numbers in Nepal are 100 for police, 101 for fire and 102 for an ambulance. The tourist police, who speak good English, answer on 1144.
There is no central public ambulance service in Nepal and some private providers operate in the main cities. In a medical emergency the advice is to call the nearest hospital directly rather than a national ambulance number.
The regulator warns everyone using a Nepali line not to call back unknown foreign numbers that ring them and not to click links in messages from such numbers, and asks that these numbers be reported to info@nta.gov.np.
Operators may run a promotional offer for no more than three months, and such packages must not renew automatically. Value added services may be renewed only with the customer's consent, and may be charged only after the service is actually activated.
